French Hot Chocolate

Thick and decadent, this French Hot Chocolate is made with two high quality chocolates, whole milk, and heavy cream.

Ingredients

For the French Hot Chocolate:

  • 7 Ounces Scharffen Berger Semisweet Dark Chocolate Baking Portions
  • 2 Tablespoons Scharffen Berger Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 ¼ Cups Whole Milk
  • ¾ Cup Heavy Cream
  • 3 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract

For the Hot Chocolate Board:

  • Vanilla Meringues
  • Almond Biscotti
  • Mini Stroopwafles
  • Belgium Butter Cookies
  • Cutout Heart Cookies
  • Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Chocolate Curls

Instructions

  • For the French Hot Chocolate:
    Place all ingredients except for the vanilla extract into a medium sauce pan on the stove top on medium heat. Whisk until all of the chocolate has melted and the hot chocolate is smooth in texture and hot but not boiling.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. 
    Serve in mugs with lightly sweetened whipped cream, chocolate curls, biscotti, or butter cookies. Serves 2. 
  • For the Board:
    Arrange all goodies on a wooden cutting board or large plate. Serve alongside French Hot Chocolate. Enjoy!
