This gorgeous collection of mouthwatering goodies is assembled in a much easier manner than most think: ANYONE can build a show-stopping fall-inspired charcuterie board with the right tools.
I don’t think it’s any secret, boards are a true love over in these parts. From charcuteries to kids snacks to dessert boards, there’s a near infinite level of creativity one can achieve simply by arranging food on a tray. This fall-inspired charcuterie board is comprised entirely of delicacies from Trader Joe’s. I’ll list them all below, but by all means, pick YOUR favorite array of goodies and get creating! There’s no wrong way to build a snack board.
What you’ll need to build this fall-inspired charcuterie board:
Dutch smoked cheese (wheel)
Spanish cheese, tapas sampler (triangle cheeses)
Gourmet deli selection (calabrese salame, del duck prosciutto, and capocollo meats)
Sour cream spinach dip
Fig and olive crisps
Bite sized everything crackers
Multigrain pita bite crackers
Tiger figs
Fresh figs
Champagne grapes
Raw and unfiltered honey
Cutting board or food-safe tray
Fresh florals and greenery, optional
The Spread
This selection of fruits, meats, cheeses, and crackers all came from our local Trader Joe’s. I love both their eclectic mix of seasonal treats, and their amazing array of year around staples. When choosing items for your board, first, pick a theme. What is this for? If it’s for a party, think good mix of many variables so most people will find something they like. If children are the recipients, pick kid-friendly items with fun colors that pop. You can make boards consisting entirely of desserts, fun breakfast boards full of pancakes or waffles and all of the toppings, a lunch board with sandwich trimmings and an assortment of breads, or even a dinner board with a build your own loaded baked potato. Any spread you can think of will make a fun and enticing board.
Building the Board
To start with, grab all of them items you want to arrange on the board. You will only be using a small amount of each item, and refilling as need be. Ensure the board or food-safe tray that you use is an adequate size to hold the food you selected. Don’t be afraid to add little bowls for items that tend to spread like sauces, condiments, or shredded cheeses. (Little serving spoons and forks are fun as well!). When you have all of you items assembled, begin building your board. Start with the base, in this case it was the crackers, and move onto something that you don’t mind buddying up to the crackers. I chose chopped figs, pears, and feta cheese (I liked the look of the feta outside a bowl, and had already committed spinach dip to the one bowl in the center). I then added the cheeses, followed by the meats. You can fold the meats in fun patterns, or simply lay them flat and layer then so they have some height. I finished the board with champagne grapes, the spinach dip, fresh honey, and some florals to give it a true fall vibe. This board was simple and straightforward, no fussy prep or messy cleanup. If I were serving this, I would ensure I had some cheese cutting knives, and backups of every item on hand close by to re-fill as needed.
I hope you love building this board, and I also hope you put your own spin on it! If you make one, tag me in your creation, I’d love to see it!
Another fun fall recipe is my Carrot Cake with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting … it’s gloriously packed full of spices and mouthwatering flavor.
